Mexsake was a Japanese Sushi Restaurant with a Mexican flair. We combined the two cultures to create one unified design. Oragami fish lighting swam above the sushi bar. Samari and Aztec art were etched into glass divider panels. The cocktail area and bar was adorned with Aztek patterned textured wall panels painted with a faux finish to emulate an aztec ruin. Bamboo trees provided a natural feel. Laura designed the website and menus to best represent the design.
This is the new Thai Restaurant we are currently designing in the downtown Los Angeles area. The keller’s contacted us and asked if we could design a challet type vacation home for them made out of Storage containers. We used laminated wood and glass to compliment the design.
The Desert Sun was a Design/Build Architectural Project by David Christian Architects for the Newspaper Headquarters of the local arm of Gannett News in Palm Springs, CA. The landscape includes a duck pond that surrounds the structure. Earth Tones in the “Desert Palette” were used to blend into the oasis-like landscape. Ted Powell was hired by David as an independent contractor, “hired gun” architect to bring the vision to reality.
